Dragon Spies
Although flying drones have been around for a long time, according to this article in yesterday’s Washington Post, the use of them has increased fourfold since 2004, to 160,000 hours of flight time in 2006. But now we are getting closer to tiny, insect-like drones. Even weirder, scientists are experimenting with controlling actual insects using electrodes connected to their central nervous system (thus obviating the need for a power source). Is it a cockroach or is it Dick Cheney? Only your Orkin guy knows for sure.

If Dick Cheney had an electronic cockroach for a heart, it would insult cockroaches. I read about the experiments they are doing on cockroaches with electronic implants. Between stuff like that, these bug drones, and people who think they can win WW-III, I don’t think there’s any limit on the unthinkable becoming reality.
